Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTec – You’ll be happy to learn that Mercedes is planning to bring more and more diesel powered cars, crossovers and SUVs in the future. We saw the GLK get the BlueTec treatment last April in New York, now it’s time for the E-Class sedan to get a new diesel engine option.

Better gas mileage for the E250 BlueTec

I’m happy to realize the North American market is slowly embracing diesel-powered cars. Clean diesel engines now provide much more torque and much higher MPG ratings than their regular gas counterparts.  You still think it’s noisy? Start a diesel powered car produced after 2007 and see by yourself, you need to catch up here!

The E250 BlueTec which will replace the E350 BlueTec next year. Mercedes-Benz stated that the car should have similar power numbers at around the current 190 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, very impressive for a 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine.  The car should be refreshed in the same occasion now taunting new headlights.  This engine should also make its way into the upcoming ML-Class BlueTec. This is a needed response to Audi counter-striking with 4 new TDI models.
