Lexus LF-CC Hybrid Coupe – Lexus is expanding its lineup and continuing to force people to think again when they think the brand’s boring. A senior engineer at Lexus has been assigned to a project starting early in 2013. The LF-CC coupe that was revealed at the 2012 Paris Auto Show will be produced with a hybrid motor as anticipated.

The Lexus LF-CC Hybrid Coupe gets the green light
Sources say the car will use a slightly modified version of the GS450h. This suggests it should run with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine rather than the 4-cylinder, 2.5-liter Lexus had on display in Paris. But as of now, nothing is confirmed and both powertrains might make it depending on what Lexus thinks fits best.

The Lexus LF-CC Hybrid Coupe is another step towards building performance and fuel-efficient cars. This car will replace the gap left open by the SC and most likely compete against Mercedes-Benz’ E-Class convertible and the BMW 6 Series. It will most likely keep the overall shape and lines from the concept while a few things might be a little more subtile when it comes out in two years or so.
