BMW 3 SERIES GT – Like it or not, the BMW 3 Series GT is coming. Pretty soon, there will be a BMW 3 for every occasions. From the sedan version to the sport wagon, now the GT. No wonder they are going for the 4 Series as a coupe! Nonetheless, I must admit I like the car a lot, even more than I thought I would.
The BMW 3 Series GT to be revealed next Spring
BMW applied the same long, sweeping roofline than for the 5 Series GT. It somewhat fits better, maybe because of the size of the car. From looking at the pictures, headroom should be better as the height of the car seems higher than regular 3 Series. The silver car in the pictures seems to feature a sportier, darker bumper that suggest there might be a M Sport package available.
This car will compliment the BMW lineup next spring joining the recently redone 3 Series and upcoming 4 Series. Also, don’t expect an M version of this car as production numbers look pretty low for the U.S. It will also share the F30 platform, both turbocharged 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter engines in order to compete with the Acura TSX Sport Wagon and the Audi Allroad. Starting price should reside in the mid-fourties.
What I like about the upcoming BMW 3 Series GT
- More room with a sporty look
- The possible M Sport package
- It’s close to production
