2014 Audi TT – More and more intel is leaking about the upcoming 2014 Audi TT. Audi’s planning to reduce considerably the curb weight of the car and making it more powerful. While we’re still enjoying the TT RS and maybe a TT GT3 pretty soon, we can’t help to be very excited to drive the next TT.

The 2014 Audi TT to be lighter & faster

According to rumors, the new Audi TT would be hitting the scale at around 1,000 kg (2205 lbs) fitted with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system and the five-cylinder turbo engine found in the Quattro concept now shelved in favor of the Q2 Coupe Crossover.  The current car is rated at 1,260 kg so shedding 260 kg is quite an effort.

The 2014 Audi TT engine specs are not released yet, but the 2.5-liter turbochaged engine in the current TT RS is rated at 360 horsepower so we might expect a car with the 2.0-liter at around 260 hp like in the TTS also.  Audi’s new development boss Wolfgang Durheimer had something interesting to say about the next TT, apparently “We’re talking about a high-power output here, so I would like it to be a five-cylinder engine. Oh, and don’t forget a roll cage in the back.”

What do you think about the upcoming Audi TT?
